METHOD OF MAINTAINING CONSTANT CONCENTRATIONS OF SUBSTANCES CONTAINED IN AN ELECTROLYTIC TREATMENT BATH

The invention relates to a method for maintaining constantconcentrations of substances contained in an electrolytictreatment bath, preferably in baths with aqueoussolutions. In order to regenerate the continual depletionof chemicals, substance concentrates are added to thebaths according to known methods. The rapid increase inconcentrations of damaging substances in the processingsolution is disadvantageous. In order to reduce thisbuild-up, a further metering method is known, namely thecontinuous replacement of bath solution by creating a bathoverflow. The addition of bath solution with the bathconcentration is balanced out by the overflow. As aconsequence of evaporation and entrainment this methodalso leads to the fact that the operating concentrationcannot be maintained for a long period of time inchemically critical baths.With the invention, this problem is resolved by continuousor intermittent removal of bath solution in a definedquantity and addition of fresh bath solution preferably inthe same quantity. The changes in the concentrations ofsubstances in the bath occurring through evaporation andentrainment are compensated for completely independentlyof the metering.
