The invention concerns an arrangement of equipment in connection with avariable-crown roll provided with loading shoes in viewof prevention of foaming of fluid. The arrangement of equipment comprises aseparate guide (13) and therein a face (13a) that guides thefluid in order to guide the fluid smoothly away from the inner face (11') ofthe roll mantle of the roll (1l) and further into a collectingtrough (19), in which arrangement of equipment the guide (13) has been fittedseparate from the loading shoes (20).
