A method and apparatus (P600, 800, 900) for thenon-surgical treatment of soft tissue lesions include placinga contact point (300) near the lesion and causing the patientto move in a manner that produces a longitudinal slidingmotion (216, 218) of soft tissues, e.g., nerves, ligaments, andmuscles, beneath the contact point. Treatments are continuedat sequential time intervals until the symptoms produced by thelesions are alleviated.
