METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR FACILITATING TELECOMMUNICATIONS SERVICE PROVISIONING AND SERVICE ASSURANCE

An automated system coordinates, controls andpolices installation of customer premise equipment (CPE)for telecommunications services and provides continuingservice assurance. The system verifies equipmentavailability on service request, schedules a qualifiedtechnician to install the CPE, and assigns distributionequipment resources to the CPE. The system notifies thetechnician of the installation date. The equipmentresources are auto-assigned to the CPE to facilitateinstallation procedures. The system also auto-detectsinstallation of the CPE and auto-enables service when theCPE is installed. Customer record creation and maintenanceis automatic, and installation or operation of unauthorizedequipment is inhibited. Post-installation monitoring andautomatic scheduling of repair for system or equipmentfaults ensures continuing service assurance. The advantageis reduced service delivery time, reduced operations costsand increased customer satisfaction.
