This invention is a safety device for the removable, non-permanent attachmentto a door, toprevent the door from closing completely, an action which could potentiallyinjure a youngchild's eager little fingers. This invention is hereafter referred to as theDoor ELF.A resilient body made of malleable material contained within an enclosure,having athickness greater than an adult -sized finger, even when compressed betweenthe door andthe doorframe. The resilient body is strung between the door handles onopposite faces ofthe door, providing a barrier to prevent the door from closing completely,even under theforce exerted by an adult.The attached body is easily removed to allow for complete door closure bysimplyunhooking one of door handle attachments and allowing the body to remainsuspendedfrom the other door handle. This ensures that the device is always immediatelyaccessiblefor reattachment when required.
