The invention relates to a transport device for biomass (22), in particular for sustainable vegetable products, said device being used in a fermenter (2) for generating biogas, whereby the latter is used to continuously operate the large-scale fermenter (2), according to the principles of the methanation of solid matter. The transport device (20) comprises a plurality of adjacent transport cushions (24-i), which are successively filled with liquid and then emptied. This generates a wave motion that transports the biomass (22) from a charging zone (10) through the fermenter (2) to a discharging zone (14). The invention also relates to a large-scale fermenter comprising a transport device (20) of this type.
