The inventive optical measuring device comprises a system (14) for illuminating a surface area (12) connected upstream of a light source by light transmitting means (18) and a system (22) for receiving the image of said surface area (12). The light source comprises a laser source and said light transmitting means (18) comprises a single-mode transmission optical fibre (20). A device for controlling the positioning of the prism (34) of said device, a method for controlling the prism (34) positioning and method for positioning said prism using the method for controlling said positioning are also disclosed.
