CONTROL SYSTEM FOR PERIODIC TASK EXECUTION WITH TIMING CONSTRAINTS

A control system is provided for repeatedly executing a plurality of tasks. Each task comprises a plurality of processes which themselves define a plurality of transactions, and each transaction has a maximum end-to-end delay within which all the processes of the transaction must be completed. The system is configured such that: (a) the tasks have respective periods; (b) each task is assigned a priority level, higher priority tasks being preferentially executed before lower priority tasks; and (c) within each task, the processes are executed according to a respective predetermined cyclic executive. The control system may be used in an aircraft engine controller.
