Wax composition containing a partial ester of polyols and montanwax acid and calcium soaps of montan wax acid

Polyols other than ethane-1,2-diol and butane-1,3-diol are used in wax mixtures containing (a) 10-80 wt% partial esters of polyols with 16-36C monocarboxylic acids or mixtures of such acids, (b) 0-30 wt% partial esters of polyols with 4-36C polybasic carboxylic acids and (c) 20-90 wt% alkaline earth soaps of the above acids. An Independent claim is also included for a process for the production of wax mixtures by making the partial esters, adding the required amount of calcium compound and then adding the wax acid to form the soap.
