Date Mar. 3, 1994The present invention provides a method of increasing the sun protection factor (SPF) rating of a fiber or fabric, comprising the steps of providing a UVR absorber, applying the UVR absorber to a fabric, whereby the UVR absorber is attached to the fiber and an application of less than 3% UVR absorber on weight of fiber produces an SPF rating of greater than 20 for the UVR absorber and fabric combination.
