The device makes it possible to determine the above-mentioned quantities in different test objects involving little or no modification of the test objects. Measuring is based on the principle of time resolution detection of thermal particle radiation after exposure to heating with a high energy radiation pulse. The time signal trajectory subsequently makes it possible to determine parameters of primary particle size distribution, mass concentration as well as the size of aggregates when elastic ray scattering is taken into account. The use of fiber optic components and the array for detection in the direction of backscattering allows for easy application requiring little or no adjustment of the plurality of technical test objects. The use of integrated automatic detection, evaluation of measured data and storage of results makes it possible to use the invention as a standard measuring technique for controlling emissions in the combustion of fossil fuels and for process regulation in the synthesis of many types of technical powders such as se carbon black and different metal oxides.
