The support (1, 1a) has a middle section (8) with a support surface for the tubular part of the pipe, and has two adjoining end sections (9, 9a, 10). One of the end sections (9) has a concave cylindrical top side (15, 15a) acting as a support surface for the pipe collar, and having a radius adapted to the external radius of the collar. The other end section (10) provides a height position control surface (16).
