A SYSTEM FOR IMPLEMENTING PACKET DATA CONVERGENCE PROTOCOL FUNCTION AND THE METHOD THEREOF

In a system for implementing packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) function and the method thereof, the user equipment (UE) and the core network (CN) that set the opposite PDCP entity are used as the sender and the receiver of data packets each other. The sender compresses PDCP header and gets the PDCP protocol data unit (PDCP-PDU) and sends it to the receiver; the receiver decompresses the header of the received PDCP-PDU and gets the data packet. The invention also provides a method for implementing the PDCP function when transmitting in a lossless way. The PDCP entity in the CN saves the PDCP-PDU sent to the UE by the CN in the set cache area; when the lossless transmission is completed, the PDCP entity in the CN obtains the PDCP-PDU which has not been received by the UE from the set cache area, sends the obtained PDCP-PDU to the UE. The above method and system thereof can reserve the transmission bandwidth.
