The invention relates to a gas pocket arrangement comprising a gas generator (28) and a gas pocket (25) comprising at least two inflatable gas pocket regions (26, 27), both gas pocket regions (26, 27) being connected to the gas generator (28) by means of a T-shaped connection piece (10) comprising outflow sleeves (13, 14) having different outflow cross-sections. The invention is characterised in that, in order to adjust the different outflow cross-sections of a connection piece (10) which is symmetrical in terms of the outflow sleeves (13, 14) thereof, means (15, 16; 19; 30, 32; 40) for controlling the outflow cross-section are provided on at least one of the outflow sleeves (13, 14) comprising an outflow opening respectively on the front side thereof, in such a way that the gas pocket arrangement is neutral in terms of thrust in the event of a fire.
