A holding device (1) is provided for holding, in particular, cutlery items (3) but also for holding other individual items (2). The supporting frame (6) of the holding device is comprised of end-side supports (14, 15) and of rods (16, 17, 18) that connect them. Correspondingly designed holders (7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12) can be slid onto and displaced on the rods (16, 17, 18) as required for accommodating the respective individual parts to be held. This makes an extremely variable distribution or an exact holding of any of the individual parts (2) possible.
