A system for conveying containers, particularly for conveyor installation for baggage in airports, and a vertical switch for a conveyor system

The conveyor system for especially containers transporting airport baggage has conveyor tracks located in two vertically spaced planes and interconnected by vertical points (2). The conveyor tracks of the same plane (9,10) are each connectable in the region of the points by means of two outwards movable drive means (14), and the conveyor tracks belonging to the different planes with the drive means moved outwards are connected in the transporting direction only through a switchable vertical riser (16,19,22,23), whereby at least one concavely curved element of the riser is swung in vertically. An independent claim is included for vertical switching points for especially airport baggage conveyors.
