One embodiment relates to a method for generating automated responses to communications, the method comprising the steps of receiving a communication from a transmitting party and creating an electronic file for such received communication. A first set of data is extracted from the electronic file and stored in a database. A plurality of pre-defined possible responsive communications is stored o a computer system which is used to automatically select a pre-defined responsive communication based on said first set of data. The computer system is used to automatically generate an actual responsive communication based on the selected pre-defined responsive communication and transmitted.
