The invention relates to a method for detecting the consumer-specific energy and media consumption and the user-specific allocation in common ventilation and air conditioning systems, according to which the various types of energy that are externally supplied to the system, e.g. electric energy, thermal energy, refrigeration energy etc. are measured. The method is characterised in that the individual air quantity that has been removed by each consumer unit is continuously determined, the individual air quantities that have been removed by all consumer units that are connected to the system are continuously added together to obtain a total air quantity that is delivered by the system, the allocation factors for the respective consumer units are continuously calculated by dividing the total air quantity by the measured individual air quantity and the measured consumption of the externally supplied energy is multiplied by the respective dynamic allocation factor, i.e. is apportioned and cumulated or represented in virtual consumer unit counters (rent counters).
