The invention relates to a method for permitting an exchange of data between an Xlet-based data set (11, 11`) and a bundle-based data set (17) via a bundle-based interface (26), involving the following steps: providing at least one Xlet-based data set 11, 11`), preferably a Java application, in a data processing device (14) comprising a memory device (15), whereby the Xlet-based data set (11, 11`) can exchange data via an Xlet-based interface (23); providing the bundle-based data set (17), preferably a Java application, in said data processing device (14), whereby the bundle-based data set (17) can exchange data via a bundle-based interface (26); establishing whether the data processing device (14) has the bundle-based interface (26), via the Xlet-based interface (23), and if this is the case, storing a reference to a bundle-based interface (26) in the Xlet-based data set (11, 11`) in order to permit an access to bundle-based data sets (17) and thus an exchange of data in the data processing device (14).
