LOAD SHARING GEAR FOR HIGH TORQUE, SPLIT-PATH TRANSMISSIONS

A gear (e.g. figure 3a) shaped to provide load sharing in a torque split transmission module wherein at least one spring element (34) is disposed in combination with a torque driving shaft (24) at one end thereof and in combination with a ring of torque transmitting gear teeth (20) at the other end thereof. The spring element (34) is radially stiff to center the ring of gear teeth (20) about the shaft (24) and is torsionally soft to permit relative rotational displacement between the gear teeth (20) and the shaft (24).
