Apparatus for sewage treatment plants comprising aerators that can be removed without detaching the fixed bed

An aerobic reactor, comprises a fixed bed (1) containing aerobic microorganisms and one or more aerators with air feed bars (3) that are connected by their lower ends to heads (2) located beneath the fixed bed. A slot (5) of appropriate cross-section runs the whole height of the fixed bed to permit insertion or removal of the aerators. The upper ends of the air feed bars are connected to a collector (4) fixed to the axle (9) of a self-supporting structure. Each aerator feed bar and head is fitted by aligning it with the vertical slot, lowering it into position beneath the fixed bed, and connecting it to the collector.
