Method for demultiplexing all existing connections on a V5.2 interface in a switch

The method breaks the connections with an access network which comprises a distributer region and a connection region with several finite state machines. A collective message to break all existing connections is sent from the exchange to the network. This message is conveye from the distributor region of the network to all finite state machines which are involved in connections with this exchange. In response to this message, the existing connections are separated from the finite state machines. A confirmation message is sent back from the network to the exchange.
