Handling real-time transport protocol (RTP) media packets in voice over internet protocol (VoIP) terminal

Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) voice packets in a terminal are handled by: checking whether a communication payload generated at an RTP transmitting side is a silence payload; and accumulating the silence payload instead of transmitting it upon the communication payload being the silence payload, and forming the RTP packet upon the communication payload being a voice payload or upon the number of accumulated silence payloads reaching a pre-determined multi-frame limit.
