A method for the weld-free manufacture of small furniture items such as trolleys or carts, desks and office furniture, miscellaneous storage furniture including insulated, refrigerating or heating equipment, wherein the metal walls (2) are inwardly stamped to form horizontal inner projections (4) of which the upper surface can support a storage shelf or grid (8), the vertical ends of said walls (2) are rounded or shaped into open tubes (3), said walls (2) are joined together via a tubular element (6) including two bends along the length thereof and having a shape and size enabling the insertion thereof into the upper and optionally the lower opening in the tubes or rounded end portions (3) to form a mechanical coupling, the rounded end portions or tubes (3) are joined together at the bottom by means of an insertable coupling member consisting of either a lower tube such as the one with two bends along the length thereof (6), whereby a direct mechanical coupling is provided, or a specific coupling member (43) with end openings (44) engageable by an intermediate part (40) which is in turn insertable upwards into the lower opening (3') in the tube or rounded end portion (3), and horizontally into the end opening (44), and is optionally also insertable downwards into a lower part (41) rigidly connected to a roller (42), a non-slip skid or any other supporting or rolling means, and the storage shelves or grids (8) are placed on said projections (4).
