The method involves having a sample arranged between two plates. At a sample border (5) of the sample (4) a positively fitting ring (6, 8) is arranged such that one or both plates (2, 3) are powered. In or at the ring a sensor (7) is arranged which measures a torque. An independent claim is included for a rheometer.
