PLUG CONNECTOR, PLUG CONTACT, AND METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING THE PLUG CONNECTOR

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plug connector enabling the reduction of a height and the reduction of a mounting area while securing electrical continuity between a plug and a receptacle, and to provide a plug contact. PSOLUTION: This plug connector is used for establishing electrical continuity by bringing the plug contact into contact with a receptacle contact of a receptacle connector by being fit to the receptacle connector. The plug contact is provided with: a press contact part having a nearly U-shaped slot for pressing in and bringing a wire into press-contact with it, and a contact part disposed in a direction nearly perpendicular to the insertion/extraction direction of the plug connector with respect to the press contact part and to the extension direction of the wire to the press contact part on a surface including the press contact part and perpendicular to the wire extension direction, electrically connected to the press contact part, and electrically connected to the receptacle contact mounted in the receptacle connector when the plug connector is fitted to the receptacle connector.
