PURPOSE: A digital multimedia signal receiver for processing a single carrier modulated signal and a multi carrier modulated signal, and a receiving method thereof are provided to process signal and multi-carrier modulation signals through a simple structure. CONSTITUTION: An A/D converter(320) converts a received analog signal into a digital signal, and a demodulation unit(330) demodulates the digital signal converted by an A/D converter according to modulation mode indication which shows whether the digital signal is a single carrier modulation signal or multi-carrier modulation signal. A deinterleaver deinterleaves the demodulated signal outputted from the demodulation unit. A common channel decoder(360) decodes the deinterleaved signal outputted from the deinterleaver.
