An initiation system structure for 3D(Dimensional) game compatibility in an embedded system environment and a method thereof are provided to offer the 3D game compatibility in the embedded system environment by using an EGL(Embedded Graphic Layer) initialization code called from a graphic driver chipset through an extended EGL interface layer. A 3D game application program layer requests EGL initialization fit for a platform of an embedded system when game initialization is requested according to a request for executing 3D game contents. An EGL interface(302) stores 3D graphic processing library function information according to execution of the 3D game contents in the embedded system and provides a library function called for processing 3D graphics. An extended EGL interface(304) performs the EGL initialization optimized to each platform by calling EGL initialization code information for each platform when the EGL initialization is requested from the 3D game application program layer. A graphic driver chipset layer provides the stored EGL initialization code information optimized to each platform to the 3D game application program layer.
