Network management system using the configuration of the managed network scope and method thereof

PURPOSE: A network management system by setting a network range of a managed object and a method therefor are provided to monitors an abnormal situation on a real time basis to cope with it at an initial stage by allowing a specific IP service network management system to manage equipment of a different service network. CONSTITUTION: Hierarchy construction information registering module(10) registers hierarchy information and sets an equipment type list connected starting from an upper level to a lower level in order to manage network forming information at a specific IP(Internet Protocol) service network. If hierarchy information of a network is changed, the hierarchy construction information registering module(10) re-constructs the network forming information inside a node based on link information constructed in a link information registering module(20) and a managed object information constructed in a management range extension registering module(30), and stores it in a network forming information database(12) inside the node. The link information registering module(20) registers connection information among equipments in a service network in order to manage the specific IP service network. The registered link information is first reflected on the inter-node connection information and stored in an inter-node connection information database(22) and then also reflected on construction of network forming information inside the node based on the hierarchy information constructed in the hierarchy construction information registering module(10) and the managed object information constructed in the management range extension registering module(30). The management range extension registering module(30) extends a management range to an equipment of a different service network corresponding to a contact point of the specific IP service network.
