PURPOSE: A uniformly active catalyst for the preparation of polyethylene, a catalyst system for the preparation of polyethylene, a preparation method of the catalyst and a polymerization method of polyethylene using the catalyst are provided, to allow the molecular weight, the distribution of molecular weight and the density to be controlled. CONSTITUTION: The catalyst is represented by the formula 1, 2 or 3, wherein M is an atom of group 3, a transition metal of group 4-10 or a lanthanide-series metal; A is an atom of group 6B; B is an aromatic 5-7 membered cyclic ligand or 9-12 membered two aromatic cyclic structured ligand which is substituted with alkyl group having 1-20 atoms except halogen or H, an aryl group, a silyl group, an alkoxy group, a haloalkyl group or a haloaryl group; C is a saturated 5-7 membered cyclic ligand which is substituted with halogen, an alkyl group having 1-20 atoms except H and containing N and O, an aryl group, a silyl group, an alkoxy group, a haloalkyl group or a haloaryl group; X is an alkyl group having 1-20 atoms except halogen or H, an aryl group, a silyl group, an amine group, an amide group, an aryloxy group, an alkoxy group, a haloalkyl group or a haloaryl group; and R is an alkyl group of C1-C20, an aryl group, a silyl group, a halogenated alkyl group or an aryl group which can be substituted to a cyclopentadienyl ligand, wherein the number of ligands is 1-5.
