The present invention relates to a therapeutic agent for AIDS containing as an effective ingredient and this extract kalopanax having HIV inhibiting activity. Kalopanax extract of the present invention may therefore be useful in the HIV reverse transcriptase inhibitory activity, protease inhibition, glucosidase inhibition activity and excellent HIV proliferation inhibitory activity, and treat the AIDS, inhibit the progression and, inhibit the infection.
