Serial communication control sharing apparatus and method in a router of the Integrated Services Digital Network

PURPOSE: A method and device for controlling serial communication in router of ISDN(Integrated service digital network) is provided to reduce the number of SCC(serial communication controller) by sharing the SCC equipped in the router and by sharing the SCC corresponding to the ISDN channel and Console Port. CONSTITUTION: A device for controlling serial communication in router of ISDN comprises a CPU(210), an ISDN receiver transmitter(220), an UART(Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter)(230), a dip switch(240) and a push switch(250). The CPU(210) connects to the ISDN receiver transmitter(220) with the three line as 2B+1D and has the three SCC(260-280) for controlling the serial communication. The two SCC(260,270) are allocated to the ISDN receiver transmitter(220) and the other one SCC(280) is allocated to the ISDN receiver transmitter(220) and the UART(230) as shared way. The dip switch(240) applies a mode select signal to an input/output port of CPU(210) according to the user operation. The push switch(250) applies an interrupt signal to an interrupt port of CPU(210) according to the user operation.
