PURPOSE: A method for controlling a multiple-class service quality of a DiffServ-Enabled core type router is provided to implement a proper service quality based on a service class for a subscriber with respect to a core router constructed based on a Differentiated Service(DiffServ) which adapts various service quality requests and enhance an efficiency of a packet transmission with respect to a network. CONSTITUTION: A packet from a switch fabric is classified based on the PHB and is transferred to a buffering house. The packet belong to the EF PHB is inputted into one EF queue. The packet belong to the AF PHB is classified into four classes. The upper 3 classes are inputted into a buffer based on an Olympic service principle defined in IETF. The EF queue among the packets classified based on the class is assumed as a small size buffer, and the packet belong to the PHB is received into the buffer. The AF queue adapts a critical value so that the packet is not inputted into the buffer when it exceeds a permitted packet ratio. The above principle is adapted to all buffers belong to the AF PHB. The DF queue receives all packets belong to the PHB and does not receive any control.
