A Switching Mode Power Supply Materializing Burst Mode with Error Amplitude

PURPOSE: A SMPS is provided to reduce the input power loss by decreasing the switching number in the standby mode. CONSTITUTION: The SMPS comprises a power supply(100) for supplying power to the load, a micro processor(200) for applying the reference voltage to the error amplifier, a feedback circuit(300) for generating the feedback voltage by feedbacking the output voltage of the load, a current supply(400) for flowing current to the feedback circuit, a switching driver(500) to control the switch operation of the power supply by using the feedback voltage, and an output part(600) for generating a rectified current. The power supply has a primary coil connected to the input power, and a main switch connected to the primary coil. The feedback circuit converts the reference voltage of the error amplifier into the predefined frequency in the standby mode. The SMPS reduces the switching number by performing the switching operation for a predefined time and stopping the switching operation for a predetermined time in the standby mode.
