The method of separation and purification of Hwang Chil paint and flavours from resin of Dendropanax morbifera Lev

PURPOSE: A method for separating the aromatic component and the paint component from Dendropanax morbifera Lev. and its apparatus are provided to reduce the loss of a solvent and to prevent the polymerization of Dendropanax morbifera Lev. during separation process. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the step of extracting Dendropanax morbifera Lev. with ethanol to remove the solid component. The aromatic component of Dendropanax morbifera Lev. is separated by extracting the ethanol extract with a saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon of C5-C7. Preferably the saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon of C5-C7 is pentane or hexane. The paint component of Dendropanax morbifera Lev. is separated by removing water at a temperature below 60 deg.C and at a pressure of 1-500 mmHg from the residue obtained after separating the aromatic component from the ethanol extract. The paint component is used after it is diluted with acetone, ethyl acetate, alcohols of C1-C4, cellosolve or their mixtures.
