A method and a device for setting a color profile according to user preference color in driver installation of an image forming device are provided to prevent inconvenience to correct the color profile after installing a driver to reproduce a preferred color image by obtaining color preference of the user during a driver installing process. A user interface(30) displays a dialog box for receiving preferred color information from the user and receives the preferred color information through the dialog box. A profile setting part(32) sets the color profile matched with the received preferred color information to a computer. The user interface displays the dialog box for receiving color, brightness, and saturation information as the preferred color information. The profile setting part generates the color profile matched with the received preferred color information and sets the generated color profile to the computer.
