FIELD: chemical engineering; units for electrolysis of aqueous solutions of chlorides of alkali or alkali-earth metals and obtaining gaseous products of electrolysis, such as chlorine and oxygen for cleaning and decontamination of water.;SUBSTANCE: proposed plant includes at least one electrochemical reactor consisting of 2-16 electrochemical cells; each cell has inner cylindrical hollow anode and outer cylinder cathode mounted coaxially with diaphragm placed in between them; this diaphragm is made from ceramics on base of oxides of zirconium, aluminum and yttrium. Cathode and anode are mounted in lower and upper attachment units forming hydraulically closed chambers with inlet in lower attachment unit and outlet in upper attachment unit; inlet and outlet of anode chamber are communicated with anode cavity. Anode is provided with perforations. Anode and cathode are mounted at electrode spacing of 8-10 mm; d =1.5-2.3 of electrode spacing; D=3.0-4.3 of electrode spacing; Ld=25-40 of electrode spacing; δ=0.15-0.35 of electrode spacing and Sc≥Sa, where d is outer diameter of anode , D is inner diameter of cathode, Lc is length of cathode, δ is thickness of side walls of diaphragm; Sc is cross-sectional area of cathode chamber; Sa is cross-sectional area of anode chamber. Cells are provided with lines for delivery to anode and cathode chambers and lines for discharge from anode and cathode chambers at inner diameter not exceeding 0.5 of electrode spacing at similar length of no less than 2 Lc.;EFFECT: increased productivity of plant; reduced power requirements; enhanced reliability; increased service life; simplified construction; reduced overall dimensions.;3 cl, 5 dwg, 1 tbl, 2 ex
