METHOD OF PERFORMING HOT REPAIR OF LOCAL FAILURES OF CARBON HEARTH OF ALUMINUM ELECTROLYZER CATHODE UNIT

FIELD: repair of aluminum electrolyzer hearth by mechanical filling of failed areas with repair mixture.;SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in filling failed areas of carbon-containing lining of cathode units with molded repair mixture to reduce intensity of failure of lining by components of melt and to exclude admixtures in aluminum; repair mixture is prepared by fusion of aluminum fluoride and calcium fluoride at the following ratio of components, mass-%: aluminum fluoride, 35-40; calcium fluoride, 60-65. In molding the repair mixture, use is made of molten aluminum. Size of repair mixture is 30-60 mm.
