Method of preparing a surface for the later application of a coating, in which under high pressure water through a nozzle, in particular a flat jet nozzle, and the preferably fanned out liquid jet is directed onto the surface, wherein the nozzle with a distance between 6,2 mm and 50 mm to the surface is guided and with the liquid jet the surface is traced and the surface is roughened in the same way,characterized by the,a cleaning fluid and that the water is added to a preservative fluid,that the water between about 0,5 to 5 vol -%, preferably about 1 to about 3% is added to the cleaning liquid volume -,that the water about 0,5 to 5 vol. -%, preferably about 1 to about 3 volume -% preservative fluid is added to andthat the cleaning agent is a neutral purely strength.
