The system consists of air supply unit to supply air to one or more air consuming units from atmosphere and/or an accumulator (14). The accumulator gets air from a consuming unit or atmosphere. The system has a compressor (1) with an electric motor (2) and has cooling ducts (15) which are arranged at the outlet with a pressurising chamber and the air supply from the atmosphere is from inlet. A control valve (17) is arranged between the pressure chamber and atmosphere. The accumulator or one or more pneumatic springs or pneumatic damping units can be used as pressurising chamber.An independent claim is also included for the method for cooling of one or several structural components of the air supply system.
