The ceramic composite material is made from an open-porous metal foam. The pores of the open-porous metal foam are filled completely or partly of different ceramic materials. The ceramic material in the pores of the open-porous metal foam is present in the form of ceramic(s) pellets. The open-porous metal foam has an arranged structure. The open-porous metal foam has a statistically unordered structure. An independent claim is included for a production method, and a use of composite material.
