Telecommunications method for operating a radiotelephone communications system uses subscriber stations/mobile telephones and base stations inside and outside a radio coverage range

Within a radio coverage range (RCR) (ZUMTS) of base stations (BS) there is communication between each base station and subscriber mobile telephones (SMT) (MS1,MS2) by using a radio interface (RI) (UMTS). SMT (M3,M4) outside the RCR of the BS use the RI to communicate with a radiotelephone station outside the RCR of the BS. An independent claim is also included for a subscriber station/mobile telephone subscriber in a radiotelephone communications system.
