Formulation (I), having cyclooxygenase (COX)-1 and COX-2 activity for use in humans and animals, comprises components or extracts of Byrsocarpus coccineus and Diodia Scandens. ACTIVITY : Antiinflammatory; Analgesic; Antirheumatic; Neuroprotective; Nootropic; Antiparkinsonian; Immunosuppressive; Hepatotropic; Antidiabetic; Dermatological; Virucide; Gastrointestinal-Gen.; Antiulcer; Antidiarrheic. MECHANISM OF ACTION : Cyclooxygenase (COX)-1 inhibitor; COX-2 inhibitor. The ability of (I) to inhibit COX-1 and COX-2 activity was tested using biological assays. The results showed that the median inhibitory concentration (IC50) value of (I) for COX-1 and COX-2 was 1 mu g/ml and 32 mu g/ml, respectively.
