The boiler has a cylindrical, horizontal arranged combustion chamber located in the center for a oil or a gas burner, surrounding a water room for the cooling of a connection at the outlet side heating surfaces. Condensation drainage is provided within the lower range of the connection at the outlet side heating surfaces as well as a boiler door. The water room has a water-lateral connected portions (7, 7'), which interlink in such a manner, that between assigned walls of the portions of the water room, an annular gap (8) is provided when connecting at the outlet side heating surface. A first portion of the water room at the boiler door (6) is arranged and essentially forms with its inner wall the lateral surface of the combustion chamber (2). A second portion is formed at the base of the combustion chamber and the annular gap (8) connects to the outlet side heating surface with a distance.
