The catalyst support or attachment comprises of a holder and a counterholder. The holder is connected to the counterholder with a bolt (500) on one side and through tab and slotted hole on the other side. The tab can be inserted into the slotted hole according to the expansion of the catalyst (100) in X direction. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) Combustion engine in which the catalyst support or attachment is used; and (B) Motor vehicle using the combustion engine.
