An intermediate layer (5) is formed between a sheet metal base plate (1) and a reinforced plate (3). The intermediate layer is in fluid form when supplied between the plates, and cured to make it hard. The base plate and reinforced plate are formed with holes (4) which the intermediate layer in fluid form penetrates, connecting the plates together when the intermediate layer is cured. An independent claim is also included for the reinforced automobile body part.
