The handlebar adapter (1) for racing bicycles is fastened on the handlebar (4), whereby the handlebar can be clamped and locked on the end of a handlebar stem (2) by means of a cap (3). A connecting piece (5) is fastened on the front of the cap, with the adapter non-detachably fitted on the connecting piece, forming with the cap a handlebar adapter unit.
