Process for pressure casting of an Al melt or melt containing Al alloy where the melt is deformed in the molten or paste state and hardened after deformation and molding. The molten or paste melt is then degassed in a degassing region with a gas or gas mixture containing nitrogen gas. An independent claim is included for a pressure casting unit with a casting chamber and casting piston.
