The connector (1) has a housing part (4) having an intake area (7) to admit a contact element (8) which can come out of the back (9) of the housing part to the fully pushed in position. This moves the contact section (11) to come out of front surface (10) of the housing. A slider (22) movable transversely to the axis (6) into locking or release position is present with a holding part (23). The counter plug (2) connection to the connector as well as the contact element connection to counter contact element (24) is prevented so long as the slider is in locked position. A full contact position with the counter plug, as well as the contact element with counter contact element, is made possible by shifting the slider into release position.
