The system has a bifilar or multi-filar bus cable (4, 5), at which a field bus power supply, a host and two field devices are connected. The supply, host and the devices are supplied with energy and field signals through the cable. The electrical characteristic e.g. complex proportion of total impedance, of the host, the devices and the cable is compensated by a suitable two-terminal (6) in a direction of real total impedance.
